Wedding gowns

Just found a great article. I hope the link won't be broken after a while.
I love the photos although some gowns look elaborate they seem a bit too much. But then again these weddings are of famous people and royal family, so simplicity is not something common in it.

Here is the link to the article Wedding Dresses to Remember By Steph McGrath http://lifestyle.sympatico.msn.ca/Special+Guides/wedding_guide/celebrity_wedding_dresses.htm

And here are my favourites :

"Jacqueline Kennedy
In 1953, Jackie Kennedy truly began a lifelong trend of positioning herself as a woman of exquisite taste. Her Anne Lowe dress is just as lovely and classic now as it was then. There are many fashionable moments we remember Jackie for: the dark sunglasses, the little fitted jackets, the perfectly coiffed hair, but this has got to be the apex of her influence. "Jennifer Lopez
No, J. Lo’s marriage to Cris Judd certainly didn’t last long, but her Valentino gown made an impression. Jennifer, known back then for being a little obvious in her fashion choices and for sometimes showing too much flesh, radiated sophistication and fresh prettiness. In summary: great look, but maybe a poor life decision. (credit: Photo by Joe Buissink/WireImage)"

Christine Baumgartner

Kevin Costner’s bride looked like she belonged at the top of an extremely high-end wedding cake in this Monique Lhuillier vision. The extravagant veil and delicate detailing - such as the rosette you can spot on her skirt in this picture - made this one to remember. (credit: Photo by WireImage House/WireImage)

I have to also add this news link. Wedding dresses made of toilet papers. Wow creative for sure, but must be hard to sit on during reception it will flat out.

the gowns were so extragant... I have been married in a garden wedding and I would say my gown is not one of the so called "simple" gowns...But I always agree with that simplisity in the gown would really give more thought to the event...it still so dramatic to have someone to comment the" bride makes the simple gown a lot so pretty" not "the gown makes the bride pretty"

I suppose it goes that way with most things. A true beauty shines even in modesty. My gown was quite simple in design and it was a rent because there was a death in the family and most fund went to the funeral. All I wanted was to get married, so budget wedding didn't scare me a bit. But of course to each their own.
